Growing our team to meet the moment

As we continue throughout 2025 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of both the Electing Women Alliance and the WomenCount donation platform, we are also pleased to be sharing three new additions to the team:

  • Shelby Friedman, Donor Engagement Director, has more than 10 years of experience in fundraising for candidates and organizations. Most recently, she was the Finance Coalitions Deputy Director for Harris-Walz at the DNC. Previously, she worked as Deputy Finance Director for Wes Moore’s gubernatorial campaign in Maryland. Shelby is based in Washington, DC.
  • Danielle Musoff, Donor Engagement Manager, most recently served as Vice President of HM Consulting, where she led fundraising efforts for multiple congressional campaigns, including Reps. Chrissy Houlahan and Jamie Raskin, among others. Dani is located in Philadelphia, PA.

Together, Shelby and Dani form the core of our new Donor Engagement team, which has primary responsibility for overseeing EWA Groups and related activities, including member growth, national events, materials and communications, “donors as raisers,” and more. EWA groups have raised over $31 million for women candidates since 2015—for many years with limited infrastructure—and we are excited about the ability to further support continued growth ahead.

  • Wendy Vang-Roberts, Executive & Operations Manager, formerly served as Program Manager of Federal Strategies at Race Forward and brings considerable expertise in non-profit administration to this role. Wendy, who is based in San Jose, CA, will also spend a portion of her time working with me and Annalise to support Electing Women Bay Area.

These new hires and other shifts in staff roles come after an organizational restructuring that replaces the previous co-director model for EWA. Stacy will continue to serve as executive director of WomenCount, which is the entity that houses EWA, the WomenCount donation platform, and our Down-Ballot program. Heather Lurie is not going far and will continue to lead Electing Women Denver as well as focus on other pursuits.

To recap other updates, we are thrilled that Annalise, who has worked with EWA and EWBA for more than three years, has been elevated to Chief of Staff, leading coordination and execution of our work across all efforts. Megan Clayton, who has been working for over ten years as a part-time consultant to support WomenCount and EWA, is now serving full-time as Digital Content & Technology Director. Alexandra Acker-Lyons continues as Political Director across all efforts and brings her deep political knowledge to our ongoing commitment to thorough political analysis and education. And Isez Roybal is completing her first year with the team and now serves as Down-Ballot & Partnerships Manager, a critical role that integrates our work across all entities.

Our mission has never been more relevant or more important, because no matter what else we do, we simply must change the people in power. Our lane is women donors and women candidates, and we are ready to meet the moment.
