2026 WomenCount + Electing Women Alliance Summer Internship

Position Title: Summer Research Intern
Timeline:  June – August
Compensation: $18.70/hr

As an intern, you’ll conduct research, assist with events, work with donors, and contribute to our social media efforts. WomenCount and Electing Women Alliance (EWA) are non-profit, political organizations that support Democratic women candidates running for president, US Congress, governorships, and state legislative office. WomenCount is a crowdfunding platform at the intersection of women, politics, and technology. The Electing Women Alliance is a national network of women donors that supports Democratic women running for US Senate, Governor, Vice President, and President. These are partner organizations that share the same mission and purpose of electing more women to office and increasing the number of women donors and they share a central organizational structure and staff.

Position Description:

Intern responsibilities for WomenCount and Electing Women Alliance include:

  • Researching and updating candidate profiles;
  • Researching latest state of the races, including polls, fundraising statistics, and recent press;
  • Updating political donor information and maintaining databases;
  • Assisting at local events featuring women running for office (for those based in a region with an EWA group);
  • Designing and executing outreach to potential new partners and donor communities;
  • Assisting with our social media efforts to spread the word about our mission to elect more women;
  • Other administrative tasks that support the activities of our organizations.

Intern candidates should have the following interests and skills:

  • Passion for supporting women in politics;
  • Curiosity and excitement about politics and the 2026 election cycle;
  • Strong research, writing and communications skills. Must be comfortable with online research;
  • Willingness to be entrepreneurial and think independently about ways to engage younger generation voters in the political process;
  • Interest in social media engagement is a bonus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and backend website admin is ideal but not required.

Commitment Expectations:

June through August, 20 minimum hours/week. We offer part time and full time internships and are flexible to meet the needs of the intern as long as they can commit to a reliable schedule.

Job Location and Travel:

This is a full-time remote position. Our team is mostly remote and distributed across the United States. Staff located near our Palo Alto office can choose to work in-person or on a hybrid basis.
