With first-quarter fundraising numbers starting to come out, a stark fundraising gender gap continues to emerge in this cycle’s most competitive races.
Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto and Maggie Hassan, two of the four most vulnerable Senate Democratic incumbents, continue to be vastly outraised by their male counterparts, according to Q1 totals released by their campaigns this week.
Sen. Cortez Masto raised $4.4 million and Sen. Hassan raised $4.3 million from January to March, compared to Sen. Raphael Warnock, who raised $13.6 million, and Sen. Mark Kelly, who raised $11.3 million in the same period.
Both of the men have over $10 million more in the bank than the vulnerable women Senators. Warnock’s campaign reports his first-quarter total is the largest Q1 sum during an election year of any Senate candidate in history.
