Reflecting on our 10 years of Electing Women, I am proud of all we have accomplished together and I am keenly aware of all of the hard work ahead. Working in partnership with the spectacular Stacy Mason, the dedicated EWA team and each of you, we have created a strong and powerful community and model. We have built EWA to successfully pursue our mission to elect more women in our unique and magical way even in the most challenging circumstances. We have done it with fierce determination, abundant joy, strategic thinking, some tears, lots of laughs, sprinkles of sparkle and with our Elect Women bracelets on.
We have always been able to recall the date of our first-ever unofficial EWA convening (October 2014) because I was SO pregnant. Only recently have I connected the fact that BOTH EWA and my younger son are now 10! It has been the most rewarding and extraordinary adventure to help both grow up at the same time. As he prepares to enter his last year of elementary school and my older son heads off to college, it also feels like the right time for me to transition out of my national role with the Electing Women Alliance.
EWA is continuing a thoughtful and smart restructuring plan and we will hire a full-time person to fill my role. I will focus more on Electing Women Denver and other aligned and adjacent opportunities yet to be imagined. I will stay on to ensure a smooth transition and to continue to support our invaluable mission.
Electing Women Denver and the Electing Women Alliance have been my personal and professional passion and commitment for 20+ years and that will never change. I look forward to continuing to joyfully work with each of you, Stacy and the amazing EWA team to elect and elevate women, protect democracy, reproductive rights and our values by closing the political gender giving gap. Onward with endless gratitude and relentless resolve.
